Release and Recieve

I believe it was "Synchonocity" that led me to this wonderful group called Soul Journal.

The members on ths group are pure of heart in their creations and inspire others with their positive and refreshing approaches to speaking from the soul.

Kathyrn, our fearless leader, gives us prompts and guidance.

Expressing oneself through this artform is new to me...it is not like scrapbooking or cardmaking in the usual conventional manner I am accustomed to. There are no stores that specialize in what to do..Just a box of old magazines, some gesso, glue, paint and a willingness to express yourself. You really are naked and alone in your creativity; and, this is good, really good.

I have been on a very serious journey with my Health since last October. I have quit smoking and now working on weight loss. This piece, is an expression of my journey, through life's cycles of healing and rejuvenation; all, of which, is a part of my struggles, joy, victories and...my sense of humor.

My doodling, graphs in an art-form the unique anatomy of the human body...our bones, vessels, cells and it's ability to rejuvenate and repair itself.

Take a gander over to my blog lists of Mixed Media and Altered Art, some very interesting and inspiring work on these blogs.

Thanks for stopping by

This is absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations on your brave move to extreme self care. I am learning each day how to be my very own best care taker. It isn't an easy lesson. I have the tendency to take care of everyone else but me. I am so lucky that you have decided to share your journey with me and the other soul sisters.

Hi Connie, thank you for visiting me :)
Your artwork is amazing, you really did go into your soul to create this by the sounds of your journey to a better health. Good for you for going outside your box and trying something new and deep too. I too am on a journey to better self care so I really do get your struggle.
Love all your doodling in the background too, that is something I am terrible at. Take care :)

This is really cool. For being your first one you did a bang up job. I certainly couldn't do something as good as this. Congratulations on your quitting smoking; I hear it is very, very hard to do. Perhaps we can equal it to my food addiction. Next week I'm going to start the South Beach diet and I just started at Curves. Maybe I should try something like this. Mine will be full of pain and woe, I'm sure. That Laughing Cow cheese made me smile. I see you put lots of thought into this piece. I'm also a lover of altered art and will definately look through your links. Whew, I talked a lot today. Have a great day, Connie. Good luck with your new ventures.

Hi, Connie. Thanks so much for visiting my blog and commenting there. Very nice of you also to list my blog link on yours. Your Release and Receive piece is so beautiful and expressive! I think you would have no problems doing your own personal map, once you just start. That's what it took for me - just starting somewhere. Once I was going it came together.

Nice to be sharing the soul journaling with you!
Arlene
